The Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath came alive on April 22 as its portals opened amid Vedic chants and jubilant crowds, signaling the commencement of Uttarakhand’s revered Char Dham circuit. The 8 AM muhurat saw the air thick with devotion, amplified by the melodic band performance of the Sikh Regiment.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, present for the historic event, conducted the primary puja dedicated to PM Narendra Modi. Seeking welfare for the state and country, he performed rituals that set a tone of unity and reverence.
In his speech, Dhami portrayed Kedarnath as more than a faith center—it’s a symbol of India’s cultural depth. He forecasted another record-breaking Yatra season, backed by Baba Kedar’s grace and meticulous state planning for security and convenience.
Recalling the 2013 disaster recovery, Dhami lauded Modi’s visionary leadership in rebuilding the shrine into a global attraction. Speaking to media, he shared excitement over unprecedented registration numbers: ‘Baba’s kindness draws more souls yearly. Come, but uphold hygiene and rules.’
The venue dazzled with floral decorations exceeding 51 quintals, complemented by aerial flower showers that stirred hearts. Enhanced management ensures smooth access to darshan, promising an obstruction-free experience.
As pilgrims stream in, this opening reinforces Uttarakhand’s spiritual magnetism, blending ancient traditions with modern facilitation for a transformative journey.
