In a blistering critique, JJP leader and former Haryana Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala has charged the state government with weaponizing its administrative apparatus against political opponents. The flashpoint: violent clashes at Hisar’s Guru Jambheshwar University where JJP activists faced police action during a student rights demonstration.

Chautala, addressing the media, laid bare the JJP’s strategy. ‘Our leadership has resolved to hold a large-scale public meeting on April 27 at Krantiman Park to deliberate on student issues and chart the path ahead,’ he announced. This comes amid accusations that the university administration is fostering a partisan environment.

‘They’re using universities to push one political narrative, sparking outrage among all student groups,’ Chautala observed. He extended thanks to NSUI, AAP’s CYSS, and others for their solidarity. ‘This isn’t a partisan battle—it’s a collective stand for justice.’

The stakes couldn’t be higher. Four female students have tragically taken their lives in two months, with another attempt reported recently. Chautala pointed to a toxic atmosphere of coercion, where vocal students risk expulsion. Party leaders plan comprehensive discussions at the upcoming rally.

Frustration peaked over police indifference. ‘Seventy-two hours after our complaint about explicit death threats, no FIR. How can we trust the system?’ Chautala fumed. Vowing judicial intervention, he accused Haryana DGP of ghosting his calls, underscoring deeper systemic failures.

With public sentiment shifting and a major showdown looming, the government faces mounting pressure. Chautala’s bold moves could galvanize opposition forces, potentially reshaping Haryana’s political dynamics.
