Aditya L1: The country’s first space-based mission ‘Aditya L1’, sent by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to study the Sun, has reached its destination ‘Lagrange Point’ i.e. L-1. Aditya L1 has been established in its destination i.e. Hello Orbit, about 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth. Aditya-L1 will study the activities happening on the Sun for 24 hours and will start sending very important data.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on Twitter that “India achieved another achievement. India’s first solar observatory Aditya-L1 reached its destination. This is a testament to the tireless dedication of our scientists in realizing the most complex and intricate space missions. The Aditya-L1 spacecraft is designed to conduct remote observations of the Sun’s corona and study the solar wind at L1 (the Sun-Earth Lagrangian point). It will be placed in the orbit of the L1 point of the Sun-Earth system, 15 lakh kilometers away from the Earth. The specialty of this point is that here the gravity of the Sun and the Earth remain neutral, due to which objects can remain at this place. It is also called the parking point in the space of the Sun and the Earth.
