The dramatic failure of the women’s reservation bill in Lok Sabha has ignited fresh political fireworks, with RJD parliamentarian Manoj Jha leading the charge against the NDA’s tactics.

In an IANS interview from Patna, Jha dissected the Prime Minister’s national broadcast, calling it undignified and electioneering in disguise. ‘Instead of upholding the sanctity of his position, the focus was on slamming rivals rather than substantive issues like Nari Shakti,’ he said.

With assembly polls underway in critical states, Jha argued the timing and tone breached constitutional norms. He pointed to opaque processes: a late-night gazette notification and no consensus on delimitation, fueling opposition skepticism.

Urging a new session for debate, Jha warned that the government’s approach breeds confusion and national detriment. ‘People know which regime delivers progress and which sows discord,’ he added, referencing BJP’s track record.

The bill’s defeat has polarized discourse. NDA champions it as empowerment milestone; opposition views it as a rushed ploy marred by irregularities.

Jha’s pointed remarks reflect broader anxieties about democratic etiquettes, setting the stage for heated parliamentary confrontations.
