In a determined operation, Delhi Police’s specialized unit has apprehended Kaptaan, a proclaimed offender on the run from a theft trial. The arrest by the Anti-Jail Bail and Proclaimed Offender Cell highlights the force’s proactive stance against absconders. Charges against him date back to May 28, 2025, with South-West/Dwarka Court’s CJM issuing the proclamation order.
The breakthrough came through relentless groundwork. On April 16 in Najafgarh, a secret tip pinpointed Kaptaan’s location and his evasion tactics in a local police case. Dwarka Court had already declared him a fugitive. Police laid an ambush in Arya Nagar, leading to his capture without resistance.
Under DCP Dwarka’s instructions, a focused campaign is underway to hunt down proclaimed offenders, notorious gangsters, and recently released prisoners. This cell’s mission is clear: locate and arrest those undermining the judicial process.
Adding to the momentum, North Rohini station resolved a dramatic ‘armed robbery’ complaint from Abhishek on April 18. His PCR call described a gunpoint heist, prompting immediate investigation. Within mere six hours, tech tools and street smarts nabbed two individuals, exposing the incident as a fabricated loot. Such rapid resolutions boost confidence in Delhi’s policing amid everyday threats.
