A father’s instinct saved the day on Maharashtra’s Armori-Gadchiroli main road when his speeding car suddenly turned into an inferno, sparing him and his son from a tragic fate. The shocking accident occurred Saturday between Churmura and Vasa villages, highlighting the perils of sudden mechanical failures.
Anil Dongrewar, en route to drop his son for the Sainik School admission test in Gadchiroli, noticed smoke emanating from the engine post-Churmura. Dismissing it initially as a glitch, he soon realized the gravity as fire sparks flew. With split-second reflexes, he halted the car on the shoulder and evacuated both himself and his child seconds before the vehicle exploded into a towering blaze.
Onlookers watched in horror as the intense summer heat fueled the fire, with flames leaping high and consuming the car completely. No one dared approach due to the explosive intensity.
Emergency services sprang into action upon receiving reports. Police secured the perimeter to prevent further mishaps, and fire tenders worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire, though the car was beyond salvage by then.
