Raipur, April 17, 2026/ The Chhattisgarh government, through the General Administration Department, has issued orders for an investigation into the accident that occurred at Vedanta Power Limited located in Singheetarai, under Dabhara tehsil of Sakti district.
It is noteworthy that on April 14, 2026, an accident occurred in the boiler unit-1 of the plant due to a technical fault in the joint of the water supply pipe connected to the steam pipe. Several workers died and many were seriously injured in this accident.
In view of the seriousness of the incident, the state government has appointed the Commissioner, Bilaspur division, as the inquiry officer. The points determined for the investigation include when and how the incident occurred, the causes and circumstances of the incident, and measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future.
As per the issued order, the inquiry officer has been directed to complete the investigation and submit their report to the state government within 30 days.
It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has given instructions to ensure a fair and swift investigation of the accident and to take strict action against the culprits.
