“Space on Wheels” Becomes a Mobile Space Knowledge School for Children in Jashpur

Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed “Space on Wheels”, praised children’s scientific understanding.

Raipur April 17, 2026/With the aim of promoting curiosity and scientific thinking towards space science, the “Space on Wheels” program has infused new energy among children in Jashpur district. Upon the arrival of the Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) special mobile exhibition bus at Ranajeeta Stadium, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai reviewed the space vehicle and observed the displayed models of rockets, satellites, and various space missions. During this time, he interacted cordially with the students and praised their scientific understanding and curiosity.

Class 12 students from Government Maharani Laxmi Bai Higher Secondary School, Jashpur – Kumari Anshu Paswan, Bhumika Dahre, and Sarika Sahni – came forward and explained the working of various space technologies, including Chandrayaan and Mangalyaan, to the Chief Minister in a simple and effective manner. Impressed by the children’s confidence, the Chief Minister said that such initiatives play a crucial role in developing interest in science, especially in remote areas. He stated that science and technology are the cornerstone of development today, and programs like “Space on Wheels” strengthen curiosity, innovation, and a scientific outlook among children in rural areas.

During the program, the Chief Minister presented appreciation letters to 17 children who were imparting science knowledge in various schools of the district through “Space on Wheels” and also distributed the booklet “The Magic of Night Sky” to the students.

On this occasion, Pathalgaon MLA Mrs. Gomti Sai, Jashpur MLA Mrs. Raimuni Bhagat, District Panchayat President Mr. Salik Sai, Municipal Council President Mr. Arvind Bhagat, District Panchayat Vice President Mr. Shaurya Pratap Singh Judev, Municipal Council Vice President Mr. Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Sarguja Division Commissioner Mr. Narendra Dugga, Police Commissioner Mr. Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Lal Umed Singh, and a large number of school children were present.

It is noteworthy that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, this initiative is being organized under the “Anveshan” program to promote science and technology. With the support of Vigyan Bharti, this program is being conducted in all development blocks of Jashpur district. This campaign, which started on April 7, will run for 14 days, during which the bus will visit various schools daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, providing information about space science to students. More than 10,000 students in the district will directly benefit from this initiative.

“Space on Wheels” is an advanced mobile exhibition by ISRO, aimed at bringing space science directly to students and the general public. The exhibition showcases models related to PSLV, GSLV, Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan, RLV, Remote Sensing, Communication, and Navigation Satellites. Complex space technologies are being explained to students in simple language through audio-visual media, interactive panels, and live demonstrations.

The objective of this initiative is not only to raise awareness about space science but also to inspire youth to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Students are being guided by experts from Vigyan Bharti, physics lecturers, and volunteers. This program is proving particularly beneficial for students who do not have the opportunity to travel to big cities or ISRO centers.

The arrival of “Space on Wheels” in Jashpur has emerged as a campaign that will give new direction to the dreams of the youth, playing a significant role in giving the district a new identity in the field of science and technology in the future.
