Day-care facility equipped center for senior citizens: Yoga, health, entertainment, and skill development facilities will be available under one roof.
Raipur April 17, 2026/ Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today inaugurated the state-of-the-art day-care center ‘Siyan Gudi’ developed for senior citizens in Jashpur. On this occasion, he boosted the morale of the elders by playing carrom with them and established an intimate dialogue. The senior citizens appeared very happy to have the Chief Minister among them and expressed gratitude for ‘Siyan Gudi’ developed by the state government.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai distributed food baskets to the elders and honored them by gifting religious books, shawls, and coconuts. He underlined the state government’s commitment to respecting and caring for the elderly in society and said that Chhattisgarh is known for its rich cultural traditions and family values, but society is changing rapidly. Due to the increasing trend of nuclear families, migration of youth for employment, and busy lifestyles, many elders face loneliness and neglect during the day. He said that this loneliness is not just emotional but also has a negative impact on mental and physical health.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that ‘Day-Care Center – Siyan Gudi’ has been conceptualized to solve these challenges. This building will become a strong center of respect, affection, and activity for senior citizens, where they can spend their day in a safe environment and gain new energy and enthusiasm. The Chief Minister inspected the center, praised the facilities available here, and described it as an ideal initiative for senior citizens.
Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Sharma said that through ‘Siyan Gudi’, the state government has taken an important step towards making the lives of senior citizens more dignified, active, and happy, which will provide new energy to family values while strengthening social harmony.
It is noteworthy that this ‘Siyan Gudi’ center, located on Bhagalpur Road behind Ranijeeta Stadium in Jashpur, has been developed as a comprehensive day-care unit for senior citizens, with the main objective of providing them with multi-dimensional services at one place. Facilities for yoga, pranayama, entertainment, cultural and community activities, digital and financial literacy, and skill development training will be provided here. In addition, arrangements for primary health check-ups, availability of basic medicines, teleconsultation, health awareness sessions, physiotherapy, and exercise have also been ensured.
In addition, legal and family counseling will also be provided to senior citizens at the center. In case of neglect or abuse, quick assistance will be provided through the National Helpline number 14567 and the state-level Siyan Helpline number 155326. In terms of facilities, ‘Siyan Gudi’ has been given a modern look, with a barrier-free environment, wheelchair facility, comfortable seating arrangements, gender-separate and disabled-friendly toilets, a large hall for group activities, a library, and a quiet reading corner. Along with this, TV, radio, CCTV, biometric attendance system, primary health check-up desk, monthly medical consultation, physiotherapy corner, and telemedicine facility have also been provided.
In this center, various programs related to yoga, exercise, tea-snacks, meals, entertainment, life skills and re-skilling training, health check-ups, cultural programs, group discussions, and legal and social awareness will be conducted for senior citizens for 6 to 8 hours daily.
On this occasion, Chairman Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Mr. Rampratap Singh, Pathalgaon MLA Mrs. Gomti Sai, Jashpur MLA Mrs. Raymuni Bhagat, Municipal Vice-President Mr. Yash Pratap Singh Judev, Mr. Prabal Pratap Singh Judev, Commissioner of Surguja Division Mr. Narendra Dugga, Police Commissioner Mr. Deepak Kumar Jha, Collector Mr. Rohit Vyas, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Lal Umed Singh, and other public representatives and senior citizens were present.
