Questions regarding industrial safety standards have surfaced following a deadly boiler blast at a Vedanta-operated power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district. The explosion resulted in the deaths of ten laborers and left over 20 others with severe burn injuries. The blast took place in the boiler-1 unit while workers were performing routine duties. Survivors described a sudden surge in pressure followed by intense heat that engulfed the immediate area. The local administration has launched a multi-agency probe to determine if negligence played a role in the disaster, especially as temperatures at the site reached a lethal 700 degrees Celsius.
