Premadasa reciprocated warmly, posting, ‘Heartfelt welcome to Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan on his landmark first bilateral visit. We had meaningful exchanges on trade expansion, economic deepening, and opportunities that serve both nations.’

Radhakrishnan’s historic two-day visit, the first by an Indian VP, includes high-level meetings. He met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, discussing shared heritage, cultural bonds, and interpersonal connections.
Key topics encompassed India’s housing projects and the $450 million aid for cyclone-hit areas, focusing on Tamil community rehabilitation. Humanitarian resolution of fishermen disputes was also prioritized, safeguarding fishermen’s livelihoods.
