South Korean President Lee Jae-myung concluded his official three-day visit to India on Tuesday, bidding farewell to New Delhi en route to Vietnam, amid announcements of enhanced strategic partnerships.

Official statements from the MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal underscored the trip’s success, with tangible progress in critical domains. The engagement has solidified a visionary framework for India-South Korea relations, promising sustained momentum.

Jaiswal shared on X: ‘Successful conclusion of the visit. President Lee Jae-myung leaves India. Minister of State Harsh Malhotra bid him goodbye. Key deliverables in priority sectors and a reinforced future-focused India-South Korea alliance.’

Turning attention to Vietnam, President Lee arrives in Hanoi Wednesday for a summit with President To Lam, building on their August meeting during To Lam’s South Korean trip.

Thursday brings meetings with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, alongside a major business roundtable to boost economic synergies. He wraps up with a Friday return home.

In India, Lee hailed the bilateral bond’s strength, positioning both countries as integral allies in crafting shared destinies.

Particularly moved by President Droupadi Murmu’s story, he lauded her triumphs over adversity and dedication to marginalized communities.

From the state banquet, Lee’s X post read: ‘Honored at President Droupadi Murmu’s banquet. Her life’s inspiration fuels India’s bold spirit through her bravery and foresight.’

He added, ‘India-South Korea horizons are vast. Progressing from political-economic ties to a solid alliance. Heartfelt gratitude to India’s people and President Murmu for the gracious welcome.’
