Apple has launched the Air variant, replacing the Plus variant. The iPhone 17 Air is the thinnest iPhone to date, with a claimed thickness of only 5.6mm. The iPhone Air is an eSIM-only phone, and it incorporates a new N1 networking chip and a second-generation C1X modem for the first time in an iPhone. Apple states that the N1 chip supports Bluetooth version 6, Wi-Fi 7, and Thread protocol, while the C1X modem is capable of providing better performance and improved connectivity. The iPhone 17 Air is available in four color options. The price in the Indian market starts at Rs 119,900. Pre-booking for the phone will begin on September 12, and sales will commence on September 19. The iPhone 17 Air features a 6.5-inch display with 120Hz ProMotion and 3000 nits peak brightness. The phone’s front and back are protected by Ceramic Shield. For speed and multitasking, the Air variant uses the new A19 Pro Bionic chipset, which the company claims is the fastest chip in any smartphone. The Air variant, like the iPhone 16E, has a single rear camera sensor. The iPhone 17 Air’s rear features a single 48-megapixel camera sensor, but Apple claims that this sensor excels at taking 2x telephoto photos at 12 megapixels.
