Indian Oil Corporation is leaving no stone unturned in its nationwide drive to secure equitable LPG supply for households. Following an intensive inspection blitz exceeding 10,600 checks, the oil giant has issued show-cause notices and suspensions to several errant agencies and individuals breaching norms.
In tandem with state authorities, over 1.2 lakh raids have been executed, resulting in more than 990 FIRs registered. Continuous surveillance on Indane distributors ensures adherence to service benchmarks, ensuring gas reaches rightful users without fail.
Domestic LPG remains the top priority, with IOC doubling down on transparent operations, streamlined efficiency, and seamless distribution. Robust strategies combat diversion, hoarding, and illegal trade through rigorous oversight.
Delivery figures highlight the effort’s success: April 10 saw 51.5 lakh+ domestic cylinders dispatched and about 1 lakh 5-kg FTL cylinders sold, up from 77,000 daily in February 2026. From March 23, 2026, onwards, 12 lakh+ such cylinders have been provided to students and migrant laborers, managed by states and OMCs for precise outreach.
In recent days, state-run oil companies held nearly 2,900 awareness drives, selling over 29,000 5-kg units. Amid rising demand, the Ministry appeals for calm—no hoarding of fuels—and promotes digital bookings, official channels, and energy-saving options like PNG or induction stoves.
