Apple is preparing for its highly anticipated product launch event on September 9th, where it will introduce the next generation of iPhones, new smartwatches, and various accessories. This event is crucial for Apple as it faces growing competition from companies like Samsung, Google, and Chinese brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi. The company is focusing on hardware advancements, particularly since the new iOS 26 operating system lacks significant AI upgrades. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will feature design enhancements to the camera areas, while the iPhone Air will boast an ultra-thin body. Apple plans to launch four new iPhone models, with the SE model not included this time.
The iPhone Air, with its 5.5mm thickness, will be considerably thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, potentially impacting battery life and featuring a single rear camera. To mitigate battery concerns, Apple may offer a new battery case. The iPhone 17 Air will have the A19 processor, a 6.6-inch screen, USB-C port, ProMotion support, and eSIM-only capabilities. It will also incorporate Apple’s in-house Wi-Fi chip and C1 modem. The iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max are expected to switch back to an aluminum frame for better heat dissipation and a lighter feel. The base iPhone 17 will maintain its design but with a larger 6.3-inch screen, a new chip, ProMotion for the non-Pro model, and Qualcomm modems. New accessories like a revamped non-leather case, an iPhone 4 Bumper-like case, and a high-end cross-body strap are also planned.
