This gesture preceded Cook’s announcement of a $100 billion investment in US manufacturing. The glass, designed by an American Marine Corps corporal working at Apple, features the phrase “Made in US” and the year 2025. Cook revealed the glass was crafted from Corning company materials, with the gold base sourced from Utah. This gift coincided with Cook’s announcement of Apple’s increased investment in the United States, including the sourcing of rare earth magnets from US manufacturers and a total investment of $600 billion over four years.
