  • WATCH: Sarfaraz Khan’s Wife Romana Zahoor Sends Flying Kisses To Hubby After He Hits Maiden Test Fifty In 3rd Test Vs England | cricket news

Sarfaraz Khan smashed a fifty in his maiden innings in international cricket with the family in attendance. Coming in to bat at number 6, the Mumbai batter looked confident against the spinners and did not face any issue whatsoever. He batted with a strike rate of almost 94, showing an aggressive intent right from the time he arrived at the crease.

Had the calling been better between Jadeja and Sarfaraz, we could have seen a hundred from the talented batsman in only his first innings. It could have helped India a lot in the long run in this Test. India captain Rohit Sharma was very angry to see the run out and threw his cap on the ground in an act of extreme anger. He could see Sarfaraz loading a special knock and was devastated to see him get out like that.

When Sarfaraz completed his fifty in no time, there was a lovely moment that took place at the stadium. Sarfaraz’s father Naushad and wife Romana Zahoor were there in the stands to watch the opening day of the match. When the batsman reached his fifty, he raised his bat to celebrate. His family was celebrating his milestone in the stands as they stood up and clapped. Wife Romana could not control her happiness and sent flying kisses to Sarfaraz which was caught on camera.

Watch Romana’s sending love to husband Sarfaraz below:

Emotional scenes were seen before the start of the match as well when Sarfaraz got the Test cap. He got it from Indian bowling legend Anil Kumble and the first thing he did after receiving it and hugging his teammates was run to his family to show them the cap.

His father touched it with tears in his eyes as he had waited too long to see this day. Romana too had tears in her eyes as Sarfaraz looked to wipe them. The three hugged each other before the cricketer went back to join his team in the dressing room.

Sarfaraz has waited a long time to make his India debut. His teammates from U19 World Cup 2016 – Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Khaleel Ahmed, Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan – played international cricket way before him. Sarfaraz did not lose hope despite scoring tons of runs in domestic cricket. His time came when KL Rahul got injured ahead of the 2nd Test in this series and when he failed to recover from it even for the third Test, Sarfaraz’s dream came true as he got the India cap.

  • ‘Auraton Ke Bodies Ke Baare Mein…’, Jasprit Bumrah’s Wife Sanjana Ganesan Fat-Shamed On Instagram; Check Her Brilliant Reply To A Troll | cricket news

Cricketers do receive a lot of love in India for their achievements on the field. But the brutal world of social media also sends them hate in equal amount. Sometimes, it does not require a cricketer to fail to get this hate. There is an unorganized community on internet these days whose sole purpose is to spread negativity and abuse these athletes and their families. Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan is a celebrity couple who also, on a daily basis, faces the online trolling.

On Monday, when Bumrah posted a promotional video on his Instagram page, which is an advertisement for a brand and also features his wife Sanjana, the trolls filled the comments section with filthy words. The target was Sanjana who has obviously put on weight post her pregnancy. Post-pregnancy fat is not abnormal and you can lose weight too via some simple exercises. Without going further into science, even if Sanjana was an overweight person, she did not deserve this hate. Fat-shaming anyone is not right but some people get a lot of fun when they do it to others.

“Bhabhi Moti lag rahi hai,” was one of the many comments on this Insta post, which loosely translates to sister-in-law is looking fat. Sanjana gave a beffiting reply to this troll, underlining his lack of scientific temperament. She said, “You cannot even learn things from the science books in your school and here you have come to show your knowledge about women’s bodies. Get lost. (School ki science textbook toh yaad hoti nahi hai tumse, bad auraton ke bodies ke baare You are commenting on me. Run away from here.”

While Sanjana’s reply was much-needed and accurate, it did not stop many others to continue to fat-shame her. Check some of the terrible comments made on the post below:

Remember that Sanjana is a successful sports broadcaster. She is a digital presenter with International Cricket Council (ICC) and has covered many Cricket World Cups with Star Sports where her TV career started. She was aa finalist at Miss India 2014 and took part in Reality TV show Splitsvilla. Every now and then, the wives of these cricketers get targeted by unsupportive fans whenever their husbands do not perform on the field. Anushka Sharma (Virat Kohli’ wife), Ritika Sajdeh (Rohit Sharma’s partner) are also among the Cricket WAGs who have faced online trolling on regular basis.

Afer Bumrah became the new World No 1 Test bowler in the world, he reacted to the achievement by posting an Instagram Story for his haters. He posted an image reflecting on how there is very less support when an athlete is struggling and so much praise when he or she is at peak. Comments like ‘Ab toh sharam kar le Bumrah’ were constantly shared on Instagram when the pacer was out for a year due to injury.

Bumrah will soon be seen again in the third Test vs England, starting on February 15, in Rajkot. He is bowling superbly at the moment and England are deeply worried on how to tackle him.

  • Big Blow To England Ahead Of 3rd Test Vs India As Jack Leach Ruled Out Of Series Due To Injury IND Vs ENG | cricket news

England’s spinner Jack Leach has suffered a left knee injury, forcing him to withdraw from the remainder of the England Men’s Test tour of India. The injury occurred during England’s triumph in the first Test in Hyderabad, leading to his absence in the second Test in Vizag. Leach will depart from Abu Dhabi within the next day, where the England team has been stationed ahead of the upcoming third Test in Rajkot, scheduled to commence on Thursday. He will undergo rehabilitation under the guidance of both the England and Somerset medical teams.

Regrettably, England have decided against summoning a replacement for Leach, opting to proceed with the current squad. This setback is undoubtedly disappointing for both Leach and the team, given his contributions to England’s bowling attack. However, his health and recovery are paramount, and the focus now shifts to ensuring his swift and complete rehabilitation. The absence of Leach will necessitate adjustments in England’s strategy for the remaining matches, with the team likely to rely on alternative bowling options to fill the void left by his absence.

Leach had missed out on 2nd Test as well due to the injury, making way for Shoaib Bashir, the right-arm off spinner who made his debut in Visakhapatnam. With injury to Leach and no replacement announced for him, it seems Bashir will continue to feature in the playing 11 for England in this long series.

A statement from the ECB read: “He will fly home from Abu Dhabi in the next 24 hours, where the England team have been staying ahead of the third Test in Rajkot, which starts on Thursday.”Leach will work closely with the England and Somerset medical teams in respect of his rehabilitation.”

England’s inexperienced pace attack of Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley and Bashir – who have 6 Tests among them – will face a tough task to do well against Indians. But it is also true that these three showed great maturity in Vizag, helping England pick all ten wickets in both the innings.

England updated squad for remaining Tests v India: Ben Stokes (captain), Rehan Ahmed, James Anderson, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow (wicketkeeper), Shoaib Bashir, Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ben Foakes, Tom Hartley, Ollie Pope , Ollie Robinson, Joe Root, Mark Wood.

  • IND vs ENG: Virat Kohli To Miss 3rd Test Vs England But Likely To Make Comeback For 4th, 5th Matches; KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja Could Return In Rajkot | cricket news

In what is a huge blow to the Indian team, Virat Kohli is likely to miss the third Test in Rajkot against England as well after he missed the first two matches ‘due to personal reasons’. As per a BCCI official, Kohli has not yet informed the selectors about his return to the national team which means he misses out on the selection for at least the Rajkot match.

“Virat will decide when he wants to make a comeback to the Indian side. He hasn’t informed us till now but whenever he decides to play, he will be included in the team,” a BCCI official was quoted as saying in the Indian Express.

The good news from India’s point of view is that batter KL Rahul and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja are likely to return to the squad after getting fit. Rahul And Jadeja missed the Visakhapatnam Test due to quad strain and hamstring injury respectively.

Indian team players have been asked to report for the third Test at Rajkot on February 11. The match starts on February 13.

The reason for Kohli missing the Test could be anything but as per AB de Villiers’ recent comments, he and wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. Talking to his fans over social media, De Villiers had informed, “Yes, his second child is on the way. It’s family time and things are important to him… I think most people’s priority is family. You can’t judge Virat for that. He has made absolutely the right decision.”

BCCI, when announcing about Kohli’s absence from the 2nd Test vs England last month, had written: “While representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention. The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and The team management has extended its support to the star batsman.”

If Kohli is not returning then expect Rajat Patidar to continue being the par of the Test squad. The Ajit Agarkar-led selection panel is yet to announce the squad for the remaining three Tests. It will be interesting to see whether the team is picked for just the Rajkot match or all the remaining games. It is expected that BCCI will announce the squad on Thursday as there are less than 5 days remaining now for the third Test.

  • Watch: Rohit Sharma Loses Cool Over Fielders, Stump Mic Records Him Yelling: ‘Chilla Chilla Ke Gala…’ | cricket news

Rohit Sharma led India to an emphatic victory in the second Test against England which means the five-match series is now tied 1-1. India produced a dominant show with both bat and ball as Jasprit Bumrah and Yashasvi Jaiswal were two chief architects of the game. Credit must also be given to Rohit for his brilliant tactics on the field. He was on the ball all the time, making smart bowling changes and making the right decisions.

There were moments when Rohit would also lose his cool. A video has gone viral earlier in which he is abusing some fielders for being lazy and ‘walking in the garden’. While he has been rightly slammed for his choice of words, it is also true that Rohit is like that and the players don’t take all these words seriously. Rohit does not like to hide his emotions on the field and is not bothered about what others think unless his players are getting his message and are not hurt.

During the fourth innings of the match in which England were chasing a mammoth target of 399 runs, Rohit was captured yelling at his fielders on camera. ‘Screaming and shouting made everyone lose my mind’, said Rohit to his players.

A loose English translation of this onfield rant from Rohit is that his throat is hurting now after yelling at you guys.

Watch the video that is going Virat which has Rohit lose his cool over the players:

At the end of the day, Rohit is quite happy to see that India are winners and that series is level now. The next test is too far. It is to be played in Rajkot from February 15. The Indian team is likely to get a long break while England are also off to Abh Dhabi to play some golf.

Rohit mentioned that Bumrah is a champion player for their team and emphasized the importance of considering the overall performance after winning a game like that. He expressed satisfaction with their batting performance, acknowledging the difficulty of winning a Test in such conditions. Rohit hoped for his bowlers to step up, which they did. He commented on Bumrah’s understanding of his game and suggested there’s still a long way to go for him, indicating he has a lot to offer the team and expressing a desire for him to remain humble.

Regarding the pitch, Rohit noted it was good for batting but highlighted that many batters couldn’t convert their starts into big scores, attributing this to their relative youth and inexperience. He emphasized the importance of building confidence in the young players and expressed pride in the squad’s performance against a strong team, despite their relative lack of experience in this format.

Acknowledging England’s recent strong performance in cricket, Rohit recognized the challenge of the upcoming series and emphasized the need to maintain focus and execute their plans effectively. He mentioned there are still three more matches to go and emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and playing without pressure.

On Sunday (February 4), Shubman Gill announced his comeback with a stellar hundred against England silencing all the mouths which were constantly questioning his place in the Test team. Every shot, every knock and every step you take in that position will be questioned, debated and discussed by people because once it was Sachin Tendulkar batting at number 3 for India, then it was Virat Kohli and now it is Shubman Gill.

Gill narrowly avoided an LBW dismissal early on, as the TV umpire detected an inside edge. Another tense moment occurred in the following over when Anderson’s incoming delivery hit Gill’s knee roll, but the umpire’s decision favored the batter.

Despite these close calls, Gill’s confidence appeared to soar. He took charge, smashing a straight six off Shoaib Bashir and skillfully using his footwork against the spinners. Gill’s assertive play was evident as he confidently struck a boundary down the ground against leggie Rehan Ahmed and followed it up with a cover drive to reach his half-century.

Gill effortlessly shifted gears, achieving the milestone in a mere sixty deliveries. The visible relief on the young batter’s face was undeniable, considering the scrutiny he had faced for his low scores in Test cricket. Prior to this Test, Gill’s career average had dipped below 30.

  • India Vs England 2nd Test Probable Playing 11s: Will Rohit Sharma Back Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar On A Possible Rank Turner At Vizag? , cricket news

India captain Rohit Sharma has big calls to take ahead of the 2nd Test vs England that starts on February 2 in Visakhapatnam. With Virat Kohli absent, Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul injured, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer completely out of form, the batting order looks very thin. Two players who have scored tons of runs in domestic cricket – Sarfaraz Khan and Rajat Patidar – are in the squad but can Rohit take the big call of playing one or both of them in this crucial tie? On one hand, he has inexperienced but talented batters, on the other hand, he has proven batters who are currently short of runs. This is no sweet headache and it will be fascinating to see what Rohit Sharma says when he attends the pre-match press conference a day before about the possible playing 11.

Gill and Iyer have not made runs for a long time in Test cricket. History says that head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit like to take small risks while being safe by covering most of the bases. Batting is one such base. Going by what batting coach Vikram Rathour said either one of them could be picked for the Test. He said that choosing who to play between Sarfaraz and Patidar will be quite tricky if only one of them has to play but the final call rests with Dravid and Rohit. Rathour also said that he is sure of his struggling batters will find a way to come out of the slump.

In all likelihood, if either of Sarfaraz or Patidar are to play, they will come in at the cost of Gill, whose hards hands are not helping him tackling the spin bowling. Visakhapatnam is expected to be a rank turner and Shreyas Iyer is a quality player of spin bowling. The management might want Iyer to bat a little up at No 3 and put either of Sarfaraz or Patidar at No 4. Washington Sundar could be placed in Jadeja’s place while KS Bharat may retain his place as playing Dhruv Jurel could prove to be too much of a risk.

As far as England are concerned, their head coach Brendon McCullum had said that they are ready to play an all-spin bowling attack if the pitch at Vizag turns out to be a turner. They will not hesitate in dropping their only pacer in the first Test Mark Wood to make way for off-spinner Shoaib Bashir, who could make his debut in 2nd Test.

India Probable Playing 11s: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan/Rajat Patidar, Washington Sundar, KS Bharat, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav.

England Probable Playing 11s: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Ben Foakes (wk), Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, Mark Wood/Shoaib Bashir, Jack Leach

  • Virat Kohli’s Replacement For First Two Tests Vs ENG: Sarfaraz Khan And Rajat Patidar In Contention – Report | cricket news

India’s key batsman, Virat Kohli, has withdrawn from participation in the initial two Tests against England citing personal reasons that necessitate his immediate and exclusive focus, as stated by the BCCI on Monday. The cricket board has appealed to both fans and media to avoid speculating about the precise cause for his compelled absence before the commencement of the five-match series scheduled to kick off in Hyderabad on January 25. The Board has assured that a replacement for the prominent batter will be announced soon.

“Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah said in a statement.

The BCCI also said that Kohli has discussed his decision with skipper Rohit Sharma and the team management. (Shoaib Malik’s Bride Sana Javed Shares New Wedding Photo On Internet, Check Pic Here)

“Virat has spoken to captain Rohit Sharma, the team management and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention,” the release further stated.

Shah also said that BCCI completely backs its star player and has faith in the team and its ability to get results even without its best batsman. (Virat Kohli To Miss First 2 Tests Vs England Due To Personal Reasons, BCCI Requests Fans To Respect His Privacy)

“The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batsman and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series,” the secretary said. He also urged everyone to respect Kohli’s privacy.

“The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons.

“The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series,” Shah said.

It has been learned that both Shah and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar were kept in loop about the possibility of Kohli needing a break at some point during the England series. Recently, Kohli also skipped the first T20I game against Afghanistan due to “personal reasons”.

Before that, he had taken a short break, again for personal reasons, during India’s tour of South Africa where he missed an intra-squad practice game and flew to London, within days after arriving in South Africa. The last time he took a break, which was not linked to any injury, during a Test series was a paternity leave in 2021 when his daughter Vamika was born. He only played the first Test of that series.

Rajat Patidar vs Sarfaraz Khan as replacement

It is understood that one among the two heavyweight India ‘A’ performers — Rajat Patidar of Madhya Pradesh and Sarfaraz Khan of Mumbai — are frontrunners to replace Kohli.

Patidar recently scored 151 against the England Lions in an unofficial Test and Sarfaraz scored a half-ton in the second innings of the same game. There is talk of including veteran Cheteshwar Pujara in the line-up considering his experience of 20,000 plus first-class runs, including 7000 in Tests.

However, it will be interesting if the current selection committee under Agarkar is ready to look back or move forward. The batting line-up for first Test will comprise Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, and KS Bharat (wk).
