  • Anil Vij shifted from ICU to COVID ward, showing steady improvement

    Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij, who is undergoing treatment for coronavirus at a Gurugram hospital, has been shifted from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to room in COVID Ward on Wednesday, a medical bulletin issued by the hospital informed on Thursday.

    According to Medanta-The Medicity, Vij has been making steady progress and doctors are quite satisfied with the improvement in his overall condition.
    Dr AK Dubey, Medical Superintendent of Medanta-The Medicity said that chest and limb physiotherapy of the Minister has been started. “His oral intake is good and he carried out his daily routine activities by himself,” the doctor said The cardiovascular condition of the Haryana Minister is satisfied.

    Blood tests have shown improvement and the treating team advised continuation of his treatment as before, the bulletin stated.Vij, who had tested positive for coronavirus on December 5 after taking a trial dose of Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine ‘Covaxin’ was recently referred to Medanta Hospital Gurugram.

    The Haryana Minister was administered a trial dose of Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 vaccine ‘Covaxin’ at a hospital in Ambala on November 20.He had offered to be the first volunteer for the third phase trial of Covaxin, which started in the state.

    Senior Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal has been given the additional responsibility of party treasurer. The post was vacant due to the recent demise of Ahmed Patel. According to a statement issued by party organization general secretary KC Venugopal, Congress President Sonia Gandhi has given additional responsibility of treasurer to Bansal with immediate effect. Former railway minister Bansal is currently in charge of the party’s administrative affairs. Patel, the treasurer of the Congress and the chief strategist of the party, died on 25 November in a hospital in Gurugram. He was infected with the Corona virus a few weeks ago. Patel was 71 years old.

  • Border seals, bus, train and metro service of Delhi affected due to farmer movement

    There is going to be a huge demonstration of farmers of Punjab and Haryana on Thursday-Friday in the country’s capital Delhi. These farmers are strongly opposing the recently passed agricultural law. It is being claimed that thousands of farmers can perform in Delhi today under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union.

    The police has also made complete preparations to prevent farmers from entering Delhi. The Delhi Police has turned down all demands of farmer organizations to hold demonstrations in the capital. Delhi Police has said that if farmers gather in Delhi during the Corona transition, then legal action can be taken against them.

    In view of the widespread performance of farmers, the Delhi Metro has made some changes in its timing. Due to this, the metro service from Delhi to Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Gurugram will be closed till 2 pm.

    To prevent farmers from accumulating, Section-144 has been imposed in many places in BJP-ruled Haryana. Haryana Transport Minister Moolchand Sharma has said that the bus service to Punjab has also been stopped for November 26 and 27. The bus service coming from Chandigarh to Haryana has also been canceled for two days so that farmers from Punjab cannot come to Delhi. Although the convoy of farmers has traveled to Delhi.

  • Movie theatres in Gurugram set to reopen with 50% capacity from tomorrow

    Following relaxation issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in unlock 5, movie theatres in Gurgaon will reopen with 50 per cent capacity from Thursday amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

    “Our preparations for running operations are very solid and we have been preparing for it over the last seven months. We aim to provide a safe movie experience to our customers amid COVID-19,” Sanjay Barjatya, Regional Operations Head, Miraj Cinemas, told ANI. According to the guidelines released by MHA, cinema halls can open for the viewers again from October 15, and according to the rules, owners have arranged for 50 per cent of viewers to sit in the halls with paperless ticket arrangement as well as sanitisation of all the seats.Outside the cinema hall, masks have also been arranged for visitors entering the food gallery keeping in mind social distancing measures, and all incoming viewers will need to download the ‘Arogya Setu’ app on their mobile.
