    Suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, facing allegations of sexually abusing several women, was taken to hospital for medical examination under tight security on Friday, police said. Escorted by female police officials, he was taken to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital here.

    The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the allegations against Prajwal arrested him as soon as he landed at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru in the wee hours of Friday.

    The 33 year-old MP, who arrived from Germany’s Munich, was taken to the CID office for interrogation, sources in the SIT said. The SIT is also contemplating a potency test on Prajwal.     NEW DELHI/BENGALURU: The external affairs ministry has received a request from the Karnataka government to cancel the diplomatic passport of Janata Dal (Secular) MP and alleged sex offender Prajwal Revanna, and the matter is being “processed”, said people familiar with the matter.

    “The ministry has received a letter from the Karnataka government for cancellation of diplomatic passport in respect of MP Prajwal Revanna. It is being processed,” said one of the persons, who did not wish to be identified.

Only then it can be revoked,” the ministry’s official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said earlier this month.Earlier on Wednesday, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah wrote a second letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to take “prompt and necessary” action to cancel Revanna’s diplomatic passport and help the state government secure his return to the country. “It is disheartening that my previous letter raising similar concerns on the issue has not, to the best of my knowledge, been acted upon despite the gravity of the situation,” the CM said in a two-page letter.

    In a bid to tackle the rising cybercrime issues in India, Zscaler, a leading cybersecurity firm, and ISAC Foundation, a non-profit organisation in cybersecurity, have launched the ‘Cop Connect Café’ at Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology & Management (DSATM) in Bengaluru. This venture, part of Zscaler’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, is aimed at promoting cyber hygiene and security within communities around the world.

    The recent inauguration of the new café in Bangalore will offer the community a secure environment to receive expert help and advice on cyber fraud issues. The café integrates a team of cyber psychologists, technical specialists, and legal consultants to provide comprehensive, personalized support to those affected by cybercrimes.

    Speaking at the event, Karnataka High Court Judge H.P. Sandesh highlighted the café’s role in providing immediate help to cybercrime victims and emphasized the importance of using technology to prevent cybercrimes. 

    In partnership with ISAC, the café aims to develop a strong cybersecurity network in the region by empowering individuals with the knowledge, training, and assistance required to counteract online threats. Additionally, the café will organize general cybersecurity awareness sessions and establish women safety clubs to enhance cyber hygiene within colleges.

    Vishal Gautam, Vice President of Engineering and Site Managing Director at Zscaler, underscored the significance of cybersecurity awareness and hygiene in India, likening it to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan cleanliness initiative. He stressed the necessity of collaboration between the public and private sectors to address the escalating cyber-attack threats.

    Rajshekhar P, Founder Director of ISAC, pointed out that while cybersecurity awareness and cybercrime first aid are fundamental to Cop Connect Café, tools like the Hacked Or Not Kiosk (HONK) play a crucial role in safeguarding individuals and their internet-connected devices.

    ISAC Foundation works with CERT-IN, AICTE, and the Ministry of Education to bolster India’s cybersecurity landscape. Zscaler is actively investing in setting up Cop Connect Cafés in educational institutions nationwide. These cafés offer a specialized space for the public and students to obtain expert assistance and support in dealing with cyber fraud incidents.

    The State Government has written to the ministry of external affairs (MEA) seeking cancellation of the diplomatic passport issued to Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna for dodging summons from the special investigation team (SIT) probing complaints of sexual abuse of women, against him.

    The letter follows a special court issuing an arrest warrant against him, Home Minister G Parameshwara said on Tuesday.

He also added that the MEA would have to respond to the state’s communication now.The SIT is probing complaints of sexual harassment alleged by the Hassan MP and widespread leaks of explicit videos days ahead of the polls.On May 18, the special court trying cases involving elected representatives ordered an arrest warrant against Revanna Jr after the SIT made an application seeking the same.

    The SIT has moved a step further in efforts to get the MP back in Bengaluru at the earliest after its look out notices and blue corner notice have not led to his return.

    A special court for people’s representatives in Bengaluru on Monday granted bail to senior JDS MLA HD Revanna after concluding a hearing on his bail petition.Judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat pronounced the order in the evening after hearing senior advocate CV Nagesh, appearing for Revanna, and additional special public prosecutors (SPPs) Jayana Kothari and Ashok N Nayak appearing for the special investigation team (SIT) which is probing the alleged abuse of women by Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna.The Judge granted bail on condition that the accused would furnish a bond for Rs 5 lakh, along with two sureties. He is barred from leaving the country, entering KR Nagar in Mysuru district, and interacting with the witnesses. He has also been asked to cooperate with the SIT investigation.The SIT has arrested Revanna, who represents Holenarasipur in the Assembly, on the charge that he, along with others, abducted a rape victim from her KR Nagar home in Mysuru district.     New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah is all set to fulfill a range of obligations in Karnataka, including participating in a road show, scheduled for Tuesday.

    During his day-long busy schedule, Shah will address the Sakti Kendra Pramukh Sammelan at Palace Ground in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. The event is aimed at bolstering grassroots leadership and organizational strength ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

    Following the engagement, Shah is scheduled to convene a Core Group Meeting of the BJP in Bengaluru to discuss key policy matters and strategies for the region.Later in the day, Shah will lead a road show from Chikkamalur to DT Ramu Circle, Channapatna in Karnataka’ Ramanagara, engaging with citizens and highlighting the government’s initiatives.

However, in a recent incident a Bengaluru commuter encountered significant challenges while trying to book a cab online. 

    Rajesh Sawhney, the commuter, posted a screenshot on X platform displaying a waiting time of 50 minutes for an Uber cab. In his post, he expressed his dissatisfaction with the lengthy wait stating “I haven’t come across any city more messed up than Bangalore. Also perhaps the most corrupt city in India; from auto drivers to Uber drivers, from politicians to babus. How would things change?”
