With CBSE canceling the 12th board examinations of other states of the country, the demand for a similar exercise has started rising in Chhattisgarh as well. The School Teachers Association along with the Education Minister has demanded from the Secretary Education Operations to cancel the 12th examination.
State President of School Teachers Association Virendra Dubey said that CBSE has canceled the 12th board examination in the country. In our neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh also the exam has been canceled, but in Chhattisgarh the exam is being taken from home, which we oppose. Our demand is that like other states, the 12th board exam should be canceled in Chhattisgarh too. This will keep the children safe and the teachers too.
He said that the teachers will be safe because more than 2 lakh 86 thousand students are taking the examination across the state, and now it cannot be said in whose house who is infected. There is a possibility of infection in the answer sheet as well. With this, he cited a foreign research, in which it has been said that the infection of corona will remain intact for 15 days.
Virendra Dubey said that anyway the third wave of corona is being considered more dangerous for children. It is not appropriate to take the exam from this point of view also, because a large number of students are appearing for the exam simultaneously. Students are reaching to collect and submit the answer sheet and question paper, so a slight mistake can infect the children. In such a situation it is better that the examination should be stopped.
