Following India’s resounding 7-wicket victory against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 Group A match on September 14th, a post-match handshake controversy arose. Indian players proceeded to their dressing room without shaking hands with their Pakistani counterparts, leading to complaints from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now addressed the situation. BCCI officials stated their focus is solely on celebrating the win, disregarding any external noise. Devjit Saikia, BCCI Secretary, emphasized the team’s outstanding victory and the importance of celebrating the achievement. He added that the team’s performance should be appreciated, and the focus should be on the joy of the win rather than any resulting controversies. The team’s goal is to maintain this winning streak throughout the tournament. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav also commented on the matter after the match.
