Exhilaration swept through West Bengal’s BJP ranks following promising election results. Party cadres in cities and towns turned streets into festival grounds, sharing ‘Kamala Bhog’ – a delicacy once savored by PM Modi – and tangy ‘Jhal Muri’ amid resounding cheers.

Kolkata’s BJP office buzzed with energy as hundreds converged, led by Narayan Chattopadhyay who doled out snacks. ‘The people have blessed Modi with open arms,’ workers exclaimed, foreseeing ‘bhagwa gulal’ celebrations soon.

Similar scenes unfolded elsewhere. Ranaghat in Nadia saw jubilant gatherings at the counting center, while Kolkata’s Hastings College venue featured Holi-like color throws and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ echoes.

Female supporters lauded Modi’s unmatched stature. ‘He’s taken India to new heights, giving us the courage to defeat Mamata Banerjee,’ one shared. Concerns over women’s insecurity under TMC dominated discussions – night-time fears, unchecked atrocities despite a woman CM.

Malda’s celebrations, spearheaded by Sutopa Mukherjee of BJP Mahila Morcha, underscored years of suffering. ‘Women were burned and beaten, yet she stayed silent. Now, good governance arrives with Modi,’ she affirmed. With BJP’s lead widening, Bengal’s political tides appear to be turning dramatically toward saffron dominance.
