Marking a significant political anniversary, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for completing 12 years at the helm. He said the date May 26, 2014 would forever be remembered as the beginning of a new era of people-centric governance. Sachdeva pointed out that renaming iconic landmarks from Rajpath to Kartavya Path and Raj Bhavan to Lok Bhavan reflects the government’s commitment to duty and citizens. He credited the administration with steering the nation through the COVID crisis, neutralising cross-border terrorism, ending Article 370, and enabling the Ram Temple at Ayodhya. The BJP leader further observed that Delhi’s 2025 assembly outcome ended 11 years of alleged misrule by the Kejriwal government, while Bengal’s 2026 verdict ended Mamata Banerjee’s “appeasement politics.” Both states, he said, now enjoy efficient and corruption-free governance. As part of the celebrations, the Delhi government increased the income threshold for ration cards to ₹2.5 lakh, issuing 2.5 lakh fresh cards. Sachdeva described the decision as a direct outcome of the welfare vision set by the Prime Minister. In parallel, the NDA government has initiated a country-wide campaign to showcase 22 major achievements, with ministers and lawmakers reaching out to citizens in every state.
