In a heated exchange rocking Bihar’s political circles, BJP state chief Sanjay Saravgi accused RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav of belittling the state’s womenfolk over his controversial election bribe allegations. Speaking in Patna on Friday, Saravgi responded to Tejashwi’s assembly speech where the young leader alleged NDA’s massive Rs 40,000 crore war chest clinched the polls.
‘Their game is over; whatever’s left will vanish too,’ Saravgi quipped, emphasizing the NDA’s unblemished record since assuming power. He invoked judicial remarks branding the Yadav family a criminal politics cartel.
At the heart of the row was Tejashwi’s assertion that BJP lured women voters with Rs 10,000 handouts. Saravgi labeled this ‘an outrageous slur on Bihar’s women and its citizens.’ He outlined the government’s proactive schemes: initial Rs 10,000 aid evolving to Rs 2 lakh for entrepreneurial ventures, positioning Bihar as India’s leader in female empowerment.
Saravgi extended his critique to national politics, slamming Congress from top to bottom—including Rahul Gandhi—for tarnishing India’s image overseas and insulting groups like Sikhs. Tejashwi, meanwhile, lambasted the Nitish-BJP regime for Bihar’s persistent last-place rankings in growth indicators, despite two decades of ‘su-shasan’ promises.
This verbal duel signals escalating tensions, with gender issues now weaponized in Bihar’s cutthroat politics. As parties gear up, such barbs could shape voter sentiments in the coming months.
