A violent altercation unfolded at a police station in Ranchi, Jharkhand, between an ASI and a station clerk (Munshi). The Munshi severely assaulted the ASI, leading to chaos and the transformation of the police station premises into a scene of disorder. The matter escalated to the SSP. The dispute stemmed from the release of six suspects who were apprehended on charges of theft. The incident involved a heated exchange between ASI Sudin Ravidas and Munshi Uday Shankar Yadav at the Dhurva police station. ASI Ravidas lodged a complaint with Ranchi’s SSP-cum-DIG, Chandan Kumar Sinha, alleging assault and misconduct by Munshi Yadav. The conflict arose after the ASI questioned the unauthorized release of half a dozen suspects out of the 12 apprehended on charges of theft and snatching.
