In a heartfelt endorsement, Jharkhand’s opposition leader Babulal Marandi celebrated Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s Rajya Sabha bid as proof that power isn’t his sole aim. Speaking in Ranchi, Marandi said Kumar truly serves the people, earning endless accolades for his contributions.
Marandi, a fellow BJP leader, shared personal insights from their ministerial days in Delhi and Kumar’s rise in Bihar. He vividly remembered the chaotic Bihar before 2000: rampant terror, extremism, total lawlessness, and zero development prospects. ‘Would Bihar ever develop?’ was the lingering question.
Kumar demolished those myths, ushering in law and order while kickstarting growth. Electricity woes were resolved swiftly, highways sprouted across the state, and Bihar earned a new identity. ‘Opposition will always complain,’ Marandi shrugged off critics, emphasizing that BJP-Nitish feats are unmatched.
On Mamata Banerjee’s Governor resignation jibes, Marandi called it routine politics. Banerjee, he said, twists facts for convenience. Her NRC resistance stems from protecting illegal Rohingya entries— they flood Bengal, grab documents, vote, then migrate nationwide. Now, with names being struck off, she’s agitated.
This praise comes as Nitish’s alliance maneuvers draw scrutiny, but Marandi’s words reinforce a narrative of transformative leadership in Bihar, contrasting sharply with opposition strongholds like Bengal.
