New Delhi, May 28. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation has taken another step in its mission to combine world-class transit with community engagement. Over the past two days, Sarai Kale Khan and Begumpul Namo Bharat stations became hubs for menstrual hygiene education under a special drive coinciding with Menstrual Hygiene Day. Working alongside operations partner DB RRTS India, the agency installed interactive kiosks where female volunteers shared practical advice on hygiene management and dispelled long-standing myths. Commuters received complimentary sanitary products and digital period trackers, while themed photo booths encouraged participation and open dialogue. Inside women-only coaches, volunteers conducted personal conversations to address stigma and promote safe practices. Passengers responded positively, describing the program as both necessary and empowering. NCRTC views these efforts as critical to building a transport system that prioritizes dignity alongside speed and convenience. The current drive forms part of the five-year “Wings of Aspirations” initiative focused on gender sensitivity and passenger well-being. Officials say continued outreach will help shift societal attitudes and ensure women feel safe and informed while traveling across the rapidly expanding Namo Bharat network.
