A popular KFC restaurant in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was forcibly closed on Friday by members of the Hindu Raksha Dal due to the sale of meat during the month of Sawan. The activists, chanting religious slogans, demanded a halt to the sale of non-vegetarian food during the Kanwar Yatra. A video of the incident quickly spread across social media, showing KFC employees in a huddled group amidst the protest. Following the event, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) has been implemented in the district, with authorities taking suo motu cognizance and registering an FIR against unidentified individuals. The Kanwar Yatra, a significant annual event, attracts millions of devotees.
