In a detailed response to multiple political developments, Uttar Pradesh Minister Narendra Kumar Kashyap welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict backing the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision of voter lists. He described the move as essential for restoring public trust in the electoral process, citing increased voter turnout and fairer outcomes witnessed in recent polls in Bihar and West Bengal. Turning to Akhilesh Yadav’s remarks on encounters and caste-based policing, Kashyap charged that such statements embolden criminals and undermine police morale. He pointed out that the previous SP regime’s soft approach toward lawbreakers had forced ordinary citizens to endure widespread extortion and violence, prompting voters to oust the party from power. Kashyap also rejected Yadav’s 2027 political forecasts, labeling them unrealistic. He recalled identical predictions made ahead of other state elections that failed to materialize. On the issue of illegal immigration in West Bengal, the minister expressed solidarity with local efforts to identify and deport infiltrators, calling it both a governance priority and an electoral commitment that cannot be ignored.
