Renovation work has commenced at the main temple of Lord Shiva located on Ranchi’s Pahari Hill, spurred by a report in ‘Prabhat Khabar’ highlighting the temple’s dilapidated state. District administration and the Pahari Mandir Vikas Samiti have taken action. Repairs began on Monday, including sealing rat burrows and resurfacing the sanctum sanctorum’s floor. Pahan women from Bedo are providing voluntary labor for the renovation. A team from the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), led by Director Sudarshan Murmu, inspected the repair work and assessed damaged areas. The team is set to submit a comprehensive report to the district administration. The temple was temporarily closed for two days to facilitate the renovation, with devotees offering prayers at the main entrance. SDO Utkarsh Kumar confirmed that technical experts’ opinions are being considered to safeguard the temple. Around 20-25 Pahan women from Panipara village in Bedo are actively involved in the voluntary work, with one woman stating her lifelong devotion to Lord Shiva.
