In a bid to ensure seamless legislative business, Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto convened an all-party huddle on Tuesday ahead of the budget session commencing February 18. The gathering at the assembly complex prioritized orderly conduct amid rising political expectations.
Post-meeting, Mahto outlined the consensus reached: all factions committed to facilitating uninterrupted proceedings. Government functionaries were directed to furnish bills, reports, and responses to starred questions promptly, addressing past bottlenecks that often stalled the house.
Discussions delved into pressing state matters including healthcare delivery and public safety. The speaker called for substantive exchanges in the house to forge actionable outcomes on these citizen-centric concerns.
Notably, February 23 marks polling for nagar panchayat elections across Jharkhand. The session’s parliamentary committee will deliberate suspending house sittings that day, enabling MLAs to focus on campaign and oversight roles back home.
Highlighting democratic ethos, Mahto sought active collaboration from ruling and opposition sides alike. ‘Cooperative conduct fortifies our parliamentary traditions,’ he asserted.
Attendees included CM Hemant Soren, LoP Babulal Marandi, AJSU delegates, Congress bloc leader, alongside representatives from other parties, signaling broad political buy-in.
