Defying all odds, a physically challenged student from Manipur’s Jiribam has emerged as a beacon of hope by clinching 67.4% marks in the Class 12 Commerce exams. Binita Khumukcham not only secured first division but also bagged a special letter mark in Computer Science, all while writing her papers with her feet.

The COHSEM announced the HSE 2026 results on April 20, marking a successful year with 92.23% pass rate. Out of 31,259 examinees, Science stream shone brightest at 93.28%, Arts at 89.87%, and Commerce at 82.57%. Exams spanned February 17 to March 4.

Hailing from a humble family where her father operates a grocery shop, Binita’s success at Jiribam Higher Secondary School is a testament to her unyielding spirit. In an exclusive interview, she shared plans to continue in Commerce and build a thriving business empire.

State toppers grabbed headlines: Takhelambam Kalpana Devi and Yohen Longjam topped Science (490 marks), Sarangthem Ayingbi Chanu led Arts (470 marks), and Thoihenba Thongam dominated Commerce (454 marks). Binita’s feat reminds us that true victory lies in perseverance against the toughest challenges.
