The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across eight districts of Odisha tonight. An orange alert has been issued for Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Khurdha, Nuapada, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh districts. The IMD’s nowcast, issued at 9:55 PM, predicts moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds of 30-40 kmph in these areas within the next three hours.
