Madhya Pradesh’s energy sector scores a major win as MP Transco activates a high-capacity 40 MVA transformer at the Julwania 220 kV substation, according to announcements from Energy Minister Praduman Singh Tomar.
Located in Barwani district, this installation fortifies the local transmission grid. The move has propelled the district’s overall transformation capacity to an impressive 2642 MVA, while the Julwania site now operates at 423 MVA.
Addressing rising electricity demands, the minister noted the replacement of a 20 MVA transformer with this doubled-capacity powerhouse. Residents and farmers in connected areas will enjoy uninterrupted, superior power quality, marking a game-changer for daily life and farming operations.
From Julwania, electricity flows via six 33 kV feeders serving Rajpur, Sendhwa, Nagalwadi, Manwara, Julwania town, and Segaon, as detailed by MP Transco’s Executive Engineer Surendra Solanki.
The district’s power backbone includes nine substations: a heavyweight 400 kV at Julwania with 1490 MVA, 220 kV setups in Julwania (423 MVA) and Sendhwa (223 MVA), plus 132 kV stations at Sendhwa (113 MVA), Shahpura (40 MVA), Barwani (123 MVA), Pansemal (90 MVA), Pati (50 MVA), and Anjad (90 MVA). This network’s cumulative 2642 MVA capacity positions Barwani for sustained energy reliability.
As Madhya Pradesh pushes forward with infrastructure upgrades, such initiatives promise economic upliftment and energy security for its rural heartlands.
