In a move blending cinema and cultural advocacy, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed the team behind ‘Godaan’, a film championing cow protection, at his Lucknow residence. With a release slated for February 6, producer-director Vinod Chaudhary seized the moment to showcase a grand poster and detail the movie’s narrative to the pro-cow protection leader.
Rooted in India’s timeless reverence for the cow as mother and god, ‘Godaan’ echoes ancient scriptures like the Gita, where Krishna emphasizes safeguarding cows and upholding righteousness. This theme mirrors Yogi’s administration, marked by stringent actions against unlawful abattoirs post his 2017 ascent.
The pre-release courtesy call reflects the film’s potential impact on public discourse. Attendees included core team members, all abuzz with the project’s momentum.
Posters alone have propelled ‘Godaan’ into the spotlight. Its premiere showcased star-studded attendance alongside spiritual leaders, fueling viral buzz. Innovatively, it features Gau Mata’s aarti as a melodic song, voiced by rising star Ananya Singh. She enthused, ‘Voicing two tracks, including the pioneering aarti-song for cow mother, feels blessed. The other celebrates Radha-Krishna devotion. Made on Sanatan principles, it’s a call for youth to connect with Hindu ethos and gau raksha.’
Crafted by producers Vinod Kumar Chaudhary and Dr. Parul Chaudhary, co-producer Chetan Goswami, and director Amit Prajapati, the story unfolds through the tender bond of a calf and protagonist, played by seasoned actor Sahil Anand of ‘Student of the Year’ fame. ‘Godaan’ arrives poised to celebrate heritage while addressing pressing societal values.
