The Maternity Vandan Yojana, implemented by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, is reshaping the lives of women in Chhattisgarh. The initiative aims to enhance women’s economic independence, improve their health and nutritional status, and strengthen their decision-making roles within families. Under this scheme, eligible married, widowed, and abandoned women receive a monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 directly into their bank accounts. The program, guided by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade, is designed to reduce discrimination and inequality, while empowering women towards economic strength and self-reliance. Currently, over 69.19 lakh women in Chhattisgarh are benefiting from this scheme. In Narayanpur district alone, more than ₹2 crore 78 lakh is being transferred monthly to the accounts of over 27,000 women, including 3,687 women from the particularly backward tribal communities.
