Light to moderate rainfall was recorded across all divisions of Chhattisgarh over the past 24 hours. Several areas, including Raipur, experienced overnight showers, with intermittent drizzle continuing from Friday morning. The weather department forecasts that this rainy spell could persist for the next two days, with the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in some regions. Tragically, lightning strikes amidst the rain have resulted in fatal incidents. Six people lost their lives due to lightning across various locations in the state on Wednesday. Two women died in Gariaband, while four young men perished in the Raigarh district. It’s reported that all the victims were either sheltering under trees or returning from fields to avoid the heavy rain when the accidents occurred.
