A harrowing case of exploitation has emerged in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, where a 16-year-old girl was lured into the sex trade by her friend and the friend’s mother. The teenager ran away from home and sought refuge with her friend. The friend, along with her mother, then took the girl to Raigarh, where she was confined, forced to consume alcohol, and coerced into engaging in sexual acts with various individuals. The girl was subjected to brutal beatings if she refused. Police have apprehended one suspect, the friend, and her mother in connection with the case, and an investigation is ongoing.
