In a significant victory against Naxalism, 13 notorious Naxalites, carrying a combined bounty of ₹23 lakh, surrendered to security forces in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The surrender underscores the effectiveness of the state government’s initiatives aimed at reintegrating Naxalites into mainstream society. These former insurgents, including ten who had individual rewards ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹8 lakh, have chosen to abandon violence.
The state government is committed to the rehabilitation, skill development, and reintegration of the surrendered Naxalites, ensuring they can lead respectable lives. This commitment aligns with the broader goal, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to eradicate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh and the entire country by March 2026.
