In a significant move, the Chhattisgarh Police Department has decided to eliminate the use of Urdu-Persian words in its written proceedings. A total of 109 Urdu-Persian words will be replaced with their Hindi equivalents in all official documentation. This decision aims to standardize the language used in police work and is being implemented across all districts. A letter to this effect has been dispatched by the Director General of Police (DGP) to all Superintendents of Police (SPs) in the state.
