Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s CCEA has approved a game-changing infrastructure project in Uttar Pradesh: a 4-lane access-controlled greenfield highway linking Barabanki to Bahraich along NH-927. Spanning 101.515 km at a cost of ₹6,969.04 crore, the project adopts the Hybrid Annuity Model for efficient execution.
Current road woes—sharp turns, flawed alignments, and urban bottlenecks—will be history. By skirting towns with dedicated bypasses and service lanes, travel duration will shrink to roughly 60 minutes, elevating road safety and slashing fuel consumption alongside vehicle maintenance expenses.
This strategic corridor integrates key economic, social, and logistics hotspots, forging seamless links to RupaiDha Land Port and aviation facilities. Enhanced multimodal transport will accelerate goods and people flow, positioning the route as a cornerstone for India-Nepal bilateral trade through Nepalgunj, while uplifting isolated areas like Bahraich and Shravasti.
Aligned with PM GatiShakti’s vision, the highway will catalyze growth in farming, tourism, border trade, and investments. The HAM framework—40% government-funded, 60% private—offers developers stability amid revenue uncertainties borne by the state.
Hot on the heels of March’s Noida Airport road approval (₹3,630.77 crore for 31.42 km), connecting NCR hubs to Jewar, this project underscores the government’s aggressive push for world-class connectivity, promising transformative socio-economic dividends for Uttar Pradesh.
