A tragic incident occurred near a petrol pump in Baridih, under the Ratanpur police station area of Bilaspur district. A speeding, unidentified vehicle mercilessly ran over cattle sitting on the road, resulting in the immediate death of 17 animals. Five others were seriously injured. The driver fled the scene after the incident. The bodies of the voiceless animals were scattered on the road, causing a sensation in the area. Police have launched an investigation into the matter and are searching for the absconding driver.
