The political landscape of Bihar is once again buzzing with discussions surrounding the Chief Ministerial candidate. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has explicitly stated that the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) will not contest elections without a designated Chief Ministerial face. He remarked, in a veiled jab, whether they are like the BJP, who would contest without a face? This statement emerged during his supplementary ‘Adhikar Yatra,’ conducted in areas previously unvisited during his earlier opposition march.
Tejashwi Yadav previously endorsed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate for the opposition alliance. However, Rahul Gandhi has yet to officially announce Tejashwi as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar. Addressing this, Tejashwi stated that the decision would be made by the public. He emphasized that being the Chief Minister or forming a government isn’t everything, and the focus should be on developing Bihar. He also added that the Chief Ministerial face would be decided after seat-sharing agreements are finalized.
