Patna is reeling from the tragic demise of a young NEET aspirant, with the Bihar administration now seeking CBI intervention. The Jehanabad girl’s death amid preparations in the city has ignited a fierce political row, led by RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav.
Issuing a blistering statement, Yadav tore into the NDA regime, calling it a ‘rotten and inept administrative setup.’ He alleged that instead of cracking the rape-murder case themselves, the government is dodging responsibility by passing the buck to CBI.
‘This is the success of a corrupt system run by boastful ministers and the CM, who claim to hunt down criminals from heaven and earth,’ Yadav mocked. He highlighted repeated failures in high-profile probes handed to CBI, like the prolonged Nawruna case that yielded nothing after years.
The SIT’s efforts, including detentions, seemingly hit a wall, prompting Friday’s family meeting with DGP and Saturday’s announcement by Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary. Choudhary confirmed the CBI recommendation via social media, thrusting the issue into election-style rhetoric.
‘Where are the Jungle Raj crusaders now?’ Yadav taunted, questioning the accountability for Bihar’s broken justice system. He warned against diverting attention through media stunts, demanding real action.
This incident spotlights vulnerabilities in Patna’s coaching ecosystem, where thousands of students chase dreams but encounter nightmares. As CBI steps in potentially, the saga reveals fault lines in governance, with opposition vowing not to let it fade into obscurity.
