Good news for those wishing to travel from Varanasi to Gaya Ji in Bihar for the purpose of offering ‘Pind Daan’ and ‘Tarpan’ during the Pitru Paksha period. The government, under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is launching a special bus service from Varanasi to Gaya Ji. This initiative will particularly benefit devotees looking to perform rituals during Pitru Paksha.
General passengers will also be able to utilize the bus service to travel to Gaya Ji. The comfort of the passengers has been taken into consideration. The bus will operate seven days a week. According to Transport Minister (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh, the bus will depart from Varanasi (Cantt) and travel via Chandauli-Sasaram-Aurangabad-Sherghati before reaching Gaya Ji. Devotees can easily reach Gaya Ji by bus during the Pitru Paksha period. Other passengers along the route can also take advantage of this bus service.
The bus will depart from Varanasi station at 8 PM. It will arrive in Gaya Ji, Bihar, at 4 AM. The fare from Varanasi to Bihar is set at 465 rupees. Dayashankar Singh stated that this bus service will reduce people’s reliance on private vehicles, saving them time and money. The minister further mentioned the significant number of devotees visiting Gaya Ji during the Pitru Paksha.
Considering the needs of these devotees, the Transport Corporation conducted thorough deliberations. If everything proceeds smoothly, there are plans to operate this bus service on a regular basis. The state government aims to boost tourism and provide improved facilities for people and devotees.
Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation already operates a direct interstate bus service from Lucknow to Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The fare for this bus is 862 rupees. This bus departs from Lucknow’s Alambagh Bus Terminal at 2 AM and reaches Muzaffarpur at 4 AM the following day.
