Scandal in Uniform: Bihar Policeman Faces Legal Action for Bigamy

The personal life of a Bihar police constable has become a matter of public and legal scrutiny after he was exposed for practicing bigamy. The constable, who has served the department for over two decades, was recently caught by his first wife while introducing a junior female constable as his second spouse. According to police reports, the officer had been living a double life, maintaining a household in Bettiah while his original family remained in Danapur. His second wife is also an employee of the police department, belonging to the 2018 batch. On Saturday, the first wife sought legal recourse by filing an FIR at the Danapur police station. Beyond the domestic dispute, the incident has triggered an internal departmental review, as bigamy constitutes a violation of the service code for government employees.
