IMD Issues Orange Alert: Heavy Rain Expected in 13 Odisha Districts by 1 PM

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning, predicting very heavy rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in at least 13 districts of Odisha by 1 pm today. An orange warning has been issued for Angul, Balangir, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Puri, Rayagada, and Sundargarh districts. The weather agency's 10 am bulletin forecasts that these districts are likely to experience very heavy rain with light thunder and lightning, along with wind speeds potentially reaching 30 kmph within the next three hours.
