In a moment of triumph over adversity, veteran actress Nafisa Ali has shared an uplifting health update from Mumbai. Just weeks after a major surgery, the Bollywood icon posted a serene photo of her taking her first park walk, signaling steady progress in her ongoing recovery.
The snapshot shows Nafisa in traditional attire, support belt in place, surrounded by vibrant greenery glistening from recent rains. At 69, her poised stride radiates hope and determination.
‘Finally, post my April 6 surgery, I completed a park lap… Last night’s rain turned it magical,’ she captioned, correcting the year to 2024 from her post.
This comes after she bravely displayed her surgical scar earlier, calling it the ‘Great Wall’—an 18-inch reminder of her eight-year cancer journey that began with a stage 3 peritoneal and ovarian diagnosis in 2018. ‘I feel more powerful now,’ she affirmed, thanking her loved ones.
From her debut in ‘Junoon’ (1979) with Shashi Kapoor under Shyam Benegal’s direction, Nafisa carved a niche with roles alongside Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Major Saab,’ ‘Bewafaa,’ ‘Life in a… Metro,’ ‘Guzaarish,’ and ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana.’ She also shone in ‘Big B’ with Mammootty.
Her recent screen appearance was in Sooraj Barjatya’s 2022 emotional drama ‘Uunchai,’ where she joined Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, Sarika, and Danny Denzongpa. The story revolves around lifelong friends trekking to Everest Base Camp for a final adventure, finding profound lessons in freedom and life.
Nafisa’s journey from diagnosis to this joyful walk underscores her warrior spirit, offering encouragement to countless admirers facing similar battles.
