  • Cannes 2024: Sabotage attempt on Indian creative triumph by foreign competitor sparks outrage |

‘The Steel of India’ campaign, which earned a Silver and Bronze Lion at the prestigious Cannes Lions 2024, stands as a testament to the prowess of Indian creativity. Developed by Kondurkar Studio and Early Man Film, this milestone has been marred by controversy due to claims from the foreign agency Wieden+Kennedy (W+K).

W+K’s Indian office alleged that the campaign closely mirrored their concept, igniting a dispute that saw initial hesitation from the Delhi High Court to fully support W+K’s assertions. Despite an out-of-court settlement, W+K has maintained its stance, persisting with their narrative of ownership over the creative idea.

It appears that the Cannes success of Kondurkar Studio and Early Man Film was met with discontent by Wieden+Kennedy, says a report by Zee News’ sister concern DNA. Other reports indicate that their foreign-born CEO attempted to undermine this victory by contacting Cannes organizers and influencing media outlets. This action, perceived by many as a desperate and disgraceful attempt, taints a moment of national pride for India, where Indian companies were celebrated on an international platform.

An analysis of the court order reveals a narrow interpretation. The judge refrained from addressing the substance of the copyright infringement claim, suggesting arbitration instead. Following the settlement, W+K withdrew their appeal, rendering the initial court order moot and ineffective.

The announcement of the Cannes award, achieved by an Indian company, appears to have unsettled W+K, leading them to disparage the work and recognition of Indian creative talent. This incident underscores the persistent challenges Indian creatives face in gaining global recognition, often hindered by foreign entities with vested interests.

This controversy emphasizes the ongoing struggle for respect and recognition faced by Indian creatives. While the ‘Steel of India’ campaign should be lauded for its excellence, W+K’s actions represent a regrettable effort to undermine Indian success. It is crucial for the global community to acknowledge and honour the contributions of Indian companies, celebrating their achievements without prejudice.

  • International Yoga Day 2024: These three yogasanas will bring glow to your face, you will not need to get a facial done…

International Yoga Day 2024 : It is true that various types of creams, serums and masks help in keeping the skin healthy and glowing. But did you know that facial exercises can play an equally important role? With increasing age, the level of collagen and elastin in our skin naturally decreases. This leads to looseness and wrinkles in the skin.

Facial exercises help slow down these changes by strengthening these muscles and increasing blood flow. Today on International Yoga Day, we will tell you which are the 3 yogasanas that are good for your face.

Benefits of Facial Exercise (International Yoga Day 2024)

As we age, the facial muscles start weakening. This causes the skin to become loose and wrinkles to appear. Facial exercises help keep the skin tight by strengthening these muscles. Facial exercises promote blood flow in the face. This provides the skin with the necessary nutrients and oxygen, making the skin look healthy and glowing. Collagen is a protein that makes the skin flexible and strong. Facial exercises help increase collagen production, making wrinkles and fine lines less visible. Stress is a major cause of wrinkles on the face. Facial exercises help reduce facial stress and relax the muscles.

Kapala Randhra Dhoti, also known as Nasal Wash or Nasika Shodhana, is one of the six Shat Kriyas (Shatkarmas) which is a powerful yogic kriya useful for cleansing the nose and improving health. It helps in removing impurities from the body and mind by clearing the nasal passages.

    Cranial stoma dhoti method

Sit in a comfortable posture like Padmasana, Siddhasana or Sukhasana. Breathe in slowly and deeply. Close your left nostril with the thumb of your right hand. Exhale slowly and fully from your right nostril. Close your right nostril with the index finger of your right hand. Breathe in slowly and fully from your left nostril. Remove the thumb of your right hand from your left nostril. Exhale slowly and fully from your right nostril. Remove the index finger of your right hand from your right nostril.

    Pout Pose

The pout pose is a simple but effective exercise that helps strengthen and tone your lips and facial muscles. This pose makes the facial muscles flexible, which helps reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

    Pout pose method

Keep your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. Take a few deep breaths and relax your facial muscles. Pout your lips like a fish mouth, puff your lips outwards, making them as round and full as possible. Using your facial muscles, try to press your lips firmly together. Hold this pout position for about 5-10 seconds. Then slowly release the pout and bring the lips back to normal position. Repeat this pout pose 3-5 times.

  • Could China’s Growing Nuclear Arsenal Become a Concern for Other Countries? ,

SOLNA: The Chinese nuclear arsenal has increased from 410 warheads to 500 warheads within a year, claimed The Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) in its 55th yearbook 2024. SIPRI, an independent international institute dedicated to research into conflict, armaments, arms control, and disarmament in its report stated that “the estimated size of China’s nuclear arsenal increased from 410 warheads in January 2023 to 500 in January 2024, and it is expected to keep growing.”

It further mentioned that for the first time, China may also now be deploying a small number of warheads on missiles during peacetime. Depending on how it decides to structure its forces, China could potentially have at least as many intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) as either Russia or the USA by the turn of the decade.

‘China is expanding its nuclear arsenal faster than any other country, but in nearly all of the nuclear-armed states there are either plans or a significant push to increase nuclear forces.” stated, Associate Senior Fellow with SIPRI, Hans M. Kristensen.

China is likely to have a significantly smaller total nuclear weapons arsenal than either the United States or Russia, but due to its rapid deployment, it may eventually catch up to them in terms of active armament in the years to come, according to SIPRI.

According to SIPRI, there are over 2,100 nuclear missiles that are thought to be in use and under control at any given time, practically all of which are possessed by the United States or Russia.

China is increasing its weapons at a time when tensions across the world are rising due to the hostilities in Taiwan and the ongoing wars in Gaza and Ukraine. China has been holding more military exercises close to Taiwan in the past year, which some observers interpret as preparation for an invasion of the disputed territory, The Hill reported.

According to SIPRI, the majority of nations are expanding or modernising their stockpiles at the same time as the nuclear buildup. According to the institute, Israel, which does not formally recognise that it possesses nuclear weapons, is said to have moved to modernise its stockpile, while North Korea, France, and India have taken steps to increase their armaments in the past year.

  • Boost your productivity with these 5 tips on World Productivity Day |

World Productivity Day, celebrated annually on June 20th, is a reminder to reflect on our work habits and find ways to improve efficiency. Productivity is not just about getting more done; it is about making the most of our time and energy. This day is celebrated to inspire individuals to boost their productivity by adopting smart work strategies. As we observe World Productivity Day 2024, here are five effective strategies to help you boost your productivity and achieve your set goals with greater ease.

    Set Clear Goals

Establishing clear and achievable goals is crucial for maintaining focus and motivation. Begin by identifying your daily objectives. Break larger tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. This method not only makes overwhelming tasks seem more attainable but also provides a sense of accomplishment as you complete each step.

    Prioritize Tasks

Not all tasks are equally important. Use the Eisenhower Matrix to organize your tasks by categorizing them into urgent and important, important but not urgent, urgent but not important, and neither. This technique helps you concentrate on what really matters and avoid getting overwhelmed by less critical activities.

    Minimize Distractions

Distractions can greatly reduce productivity. Identify your main distractions—be it social media, constant email notifications, or background noise, and take steps to minimize them. Turn off non-essential notifications, use apps that block distracting websites, or create a quiet workspace to improve focus.

    Take Regular Breaks

Taking regular breaks may seem counterproductive, but it actually enhances productivity. Short breaks during work periods refresh your mind and prevent burnout. The Pomodoro Technique, which involves 25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break, is a popular method to sustain a high level of productivity.

    Use of tools and technology

Use productivity tools and technology to streamline your tasks. Project management softwares like Trello or Asana can help organize tasks and deadlines. Time-tracking apps offer insights into how you spend your time and identify areas for improvement.

On this World Productivity Day 2024, take a moment to assess your work habits and try these five strategies.By setting clear goals, prioritizing tasks, minimizing distractions, taking breaks, and using productivity tools, you can enhance your efficiency and achieve more with less stress. Remember, the goal is not just to work harder, but to work smarter.
