Authorities have apprehended a Ghaziabad resident, Harsh Vardhan Jain, for posing as an ambassador of micronations and operating a money laundering racket. Jain utilized a doctored photograph featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi to enhance his facade. He also employed fake number plates on luxury vehicles to bolster his image as a diplomat. Investigations revealed that Jain ran a Hawala network using shell companies and falsely represented himself as a diplomatic representative of various micronations to dupe individuals with promises of overseas employment. The accused had connections with global arms dealers, including Adnan Khashoggi, dating back to 2011.
